Laboratory Services
In combination with a complete physical examination, our veterinary staff is able to use our state-of-the art laboratory equipment to better assess the health of your pet. In many cases, results are provided in minutes which can give a baseline as to your pet's general health and help to determine any underlying diseases.
Heartworm Test In addition to testing for Heartworm disease, this test also detects three different types of tick-borne diseases: ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis, and Lyme disease.
Felv/FIV Test This is an important blood test to determine the status of Feline Leukemia and FIV in cats.
Complete Blood Cell Count Otherwise known as a CBC, this test helps to analyze the number, type and shape of the different blood cells in the body. It helps to detect infection, inflammation, anemia and other bleeding disorders.
Chemistry Profile This test helps to determine how well the individual organs are performing by checking chemical components in the blood's serum. Such analysis can help in the diagnosis of a variety of diseases such as diabetes, pancreatitis, kidney and liver disease and certain cancers.
Urinalysis Analyzing a urine sample helps to evaluate the existence of blood, crystals and/or bacteria that may signify urinary tract issues. In addition, it helps to assess how well the bladder and kidneys are functioning and serves as a screen for systemic diseases.
Fecal Parasite Assessment After centrifugation, your pets feces will be microscopically evaluated to check for internal bleeding, overgrowth of bacteria, and to check for the presence of parasites in the intestinal tract such as roundworms, whipworms, hookworms, coccidian, and giardia. The existence of such parasites is generally easily treatable, but it is important to know because many can be passed to humans and cause serious disease.
