The veterinarians and staff at Godspeed Animal Care and St. Francis Pet Resort & Rehabilitation Center are trained in the latest technology and treatments to provide your pet with the best possible veterinary care. In addition to wellness care and vaccinations, we offer a variety of surgical services, comprehensive dental care, allergy testing, therapeutic laser treatments, rehabilitation, and pain management therapy along with a variety of other veterinary services for your dog or cat. We also provide extensive veterinary care for pocket pets, such as hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas, and for exotic pets, such as avians, bearded dragons, snakes, and turtles, just to name a few. We are an American Animal Hospital Association accredited veterinary hospital and use only the highest standards when meeting your pet’s health needs.
The single most important thing you can do to ensure the health of your pet is to have regular physical examinations performed by our veterinarians. At your animal’s wellness exam, our veterinarian performs a thorough evaluation of your pet’s eyes, ears, mouth, heart, lungs, abdomen, skin, muscles, and bones. Your animal receives the necessary vaccinations, a fecal parasite exam, and deworming if necessary. We also consult with you about microchipping; flea, tick, and heartworm prevention; nutrition; behavioral issues; upcoming spay or neuter procedures; and answer any questions you may have.
At Godspeed Animal Care, our dedicated surgical suite is equipped for a wide variety of surgical procedures, such as spaying and neutering, soft tissue procedures, and orthopedic surgery. We use laser surgery on all of our feline declaws and on many other procedures to decrease pain, inflammation, and blood loss and to ensure a faster healing process. A dedicated, trained veterinary assistant constantly monitors your pet during the entire process using our state-of-the-art anesthetic monitoring equipment. We also develop a pain management plan specifically for your animal.
In-House Laboratory and Outbound Laboratory
In combination with a complete physical examination, our veterinary staff determines the health of your pet using IDEXX Laboratory Equipment in our in-house laboratory, and we use Antech Laboratory Equipment for our outbound laboratory. The results provide a baseline of your pet’s general health and help in determining if there are any underlying diseases.
Using the latest in digital X-ray technology, the staff at Godspeed Animal Care obtains superior radiographs of your dog, cat, or exotic pet in a fraction of the time it used to take, while providing increased flexibility in evaluating these films. The images are then easily transmittable via email if additional radiology consults are required. We can also produce a CD-ROM of your pet’s X-ray image to take to an emergency specialist appointment or for home viewing.
Our ultrasound examination offers a noninvasive way of evaluating your animal’s internal organ structure and serves as a tool for obtaining certain biopsies. Sterile urine samples needed for culture and analysis may also be obtained via ultrasound-guided cystocentesis. Using the ultrasound to examine your pet’s bladder and kidneys allows for evaluation of possible stones, cysts or tumors that may not be visible on radiographs. In addition, echocardiography, ultrasound imaging of your dog or cat’s heart, can be performed to provide the best overall examination of the structure and contractile ability of your pet’s heart.
During your animal’s wellness exams, we counsel you as to the proper diet, exercise, and vitamin regimen based upon your pet’s unique lifestyle and needs. We offer a variety of nutritionally balanced pet foods and specialty diets catered to your dog or cat’s individual requirements.
In the event that euthanasia is required, the compassionate veterinarians and staff at Godspeed Animal Care offer a chapel for you and your pet’s comfort. This quiet room with a sofa and chairs provides a more comfortable, less medical feel for you and your pet. We also provide euthanasia services in your home if you prefer. To help you transition during this difficult time, we offer a pet loss library, light a candle, pet memorials, and ceramic paw prints.
Our full-service, on-site pharmacy sells both prescription and over-the-counter medications for your convenience.
In the event you and your animal travel abroad, our veterinarians can examine your pet, making sure he or she meets the health guidelines of your destination country and providing the necessary certifications.
