Dr. Heidi Garman
Dr. Garman earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Old Dominion University and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. She joined us as Medical Director in 2026, and has been serving pets and their families in the Hampton Roads area since 2019.
The daughter of an Air Force fighter pilot, Dr. Garman traveled the world with her family before they settled in the Myrtle Beach, SC area. She moved to Hampton Roads in 2005 where she met her husband, and they settled in Williamsburg in 2019.
Dr. Garman truly enjoys all areas of veterinary medicine, but has special interest in diagnostic ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, and managing complex medical cases. In 2021, she completed advanced training in diagnostic ultrasound through the Sound Academy of Veterinary Imaging. While she loves a good diagnostic challenge, the most important thing to her is helping people by helping their pets live happy, healthy lives. She believes great care is a team sport and values the trust and input of each pet’s human family.
When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll likely find Dr. Garman walking in the woods with her dogs, out kayaking, or working in the garden. Her current lineup of pets includes two snuggly cats, a very busy Danish-Swedish Farm dog, a 9 year old mixed breed rescued from the streets of Blacksburg, VA and a Shih-Tzu mix “foster” who never left.
